Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Shop Connect handles information through its software platform. It covers the platform, not the service terms a shop gives its own customers.
1. Information we handle
Shop and staff account information includes names, work contact details, account identifiers, roles and authentication/session information. Shops and their customers may provide customer names, company and contact details, quote requests, prices, messages, job and work-order details, photos, drawings, files and electronic signatures. We also record operational activity, tag scans, security events, audit history and service diagnostics. Where integrations are enabled, we handle connection metadata, authorization tokens and accounting information exchanged with those services. Where AI features are used, submitted prompts, context (which may include job details or photos) and generated outputs may be processed to deliver those features.
2. Why we use information
We use information to manage accounts and access, receive requests, provide quotes and work-order tools, store job materials and signatures, support communications and authorized integrations, provide enabled AI features, maintain logs, troubleshoot, secure the service and comply with applicable legal obligations. Shops make their own customer-facing quoting and business decisions.
3. Shops, providers and sharing
Shops generally decide what customer and job information to collect and how to use it. Shop Connect processes it to provide the platform on a shop's behalf. Shop Connect also handles account, security and operational information for its own service purposes. Authorized shop users access information according to their permissions. We use infrastructure and service providers as needed to host data, deliver communications, process enabled features and protect the service. Information may be shared as authorized for integrations, where required by law, to protect users or the service, or in a business transaction with appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information.
4. QuickBooks Online and Intuit
When an authorized shop user connects QuickBooks Online, Shop Connect may store connection details and exchange customer records, estimates, line items, amounts and related accounting information with Intuit as needed for the features the shop uses. A shop can disconnect its connection through available settings. Disconnecting stops future connected access but does not automatically delete information already held by Intuit. Intuit's own terms and privacy practices apply.
5. Cookies and sessions
Shop Connect uses essential session cookies or similar browser storage for sign-in and access protection. We do not use advertising cookies in the platform. If these practices change, this policy will be updated.
6. Retention and deletion
We retain records as reasonably needed to operate the service, support shops' quoting, production and recordkeeping needs, and meet security, legal or accounting obligations. Shops may request correction or deletion through available controls or support. Some information may remain in backups or audit records for a limited period or as required by law. Deletion from Shop Connect does not automatically delete copies held by a connected third party.
7. Security
We use access controls and other reasonable safeguards intended to protect information, including shop- and role-based access. No storage or transmission is perfectly secure. Shops should protect credentials, review authorized users and report suspected misuse.
8. Choices and rights
If you are a shop customer, contact the shop handling your job about access to, correction of or deletion of your information. Shop account users may use available controls or the contact method below. People in California and elsewhere in the United States may have rights under applicable privacy laws; we will consider verifiable requests as required by law. This policy does not claim any particular law applies to every user or shop.
9. Updates and contact
We may update this policy when the service or our practices change; the updated date will appear here. For platform privacy questions or requests, signed-in users can use Shop Connect Support (the Support link inside the app, at /support). For a shop's customer records, contact the shop that handled your request or job.
